As a Cloud Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing the organization’s cloud security strategy, designing secure cloud architectures, and leading or supporting a variety of cyber security projects. You will serve as a subject matter expert for cloud security, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud-based systems and data.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING 

  Cloud Security Strategy & Architecture

• Develop, document, and continuously improve the organization’s cloud security strategy and roadmap.
• Design and implement secure cloud architectures and controls for AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud security technologies, tools, and best practices.
• Define and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and security architecture reviews for cloud initiatives.
• Serve as a technical advisor on cloud security to engineering, DevOps, and business teams.

Cybersecurity Project Leadership

• Lead or participate in multiple cyber security projects, including cloud migration, security automation, and incident response.
• Collaborate with project managers, application owners, and infrastructure teams to integrate security into project lifecycles.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams.
• Support security operations by monitoring cloud environments, investigating incidents, and recommending remediation actions.

Governance, Risk, and Compliance

• Ensure cloud environments comply with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Conduct regular security assessments, audits.
• Maintain awareness of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to technical and non-technical stakeholders on cloud security risks and best practices.

REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2+ years in cloud security engineering.
• Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, and EntraID security services and architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and CI/CD security integration.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, encryption, network security, and cloud-native security controls.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK).
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, CCSP, CISSP).
• Experience with container security (Kubernetes, Docker), DevSecOps, and cloud security posture management (CSPM).
• Hands-on experience with security monitoring, SIEM, and incident response in cloud environments.

Salary Range: $158,480 - $198,100

Salary pay ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and local market conditions.
