Position: Podcast Video Editor | Contractor | Part-Time Opportunity
Location: Moses Lake, Washington • Remote
Type: 1099 Contractor position - Part-Time (with potential to move to Full-Time)
Hours: 25–30 hours per week
Time Zone alignment: MUST have some PST availability for meetings and real-time collaboration (flexibility in how and when work is completed across the week)
Compensation : $2,500 - $3,500 per month (based on experience and scope)

The Role (Read Carefully):

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Video Editor to join our Growth Team on a freelance/full-time contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, content-driven environment and has a passion for storytelling through high-quality video.

This is not a conventional editing role. You are a creative force multiplier who doesn't just cut clips — you understand how to craft compelling talking head content, build narratives, and create videos and trailers that capture attention and drive impact.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in video editing for both short-form and long-form content.
• Demonstrated experience editing talking head content (YouTube videos, podcasts, educational or personal brand content).
• Strong storytelling ability with an eye for pacing, emotion, and engagement.
• Proficiency in VFX and SFX integration.
• Experience creating high-quality content at a high volume.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with motion graphics, animations, and kinetic text.
• Familiarity with social media trends and content performance strategies.
• Strong understanding of audience engagement across digital platforms.

Ideal Profile (Likely Background):
Experience & Background:

• 2–3+ years of professional video editing experience (freelance, agency, or in-house).
• Portfolio that shows range across short-form and long-form content.
• Background in personal brand, podcast, or online education content.

Editing Strengths:

• Knows how to make talking head content compelling — even when the raw footage isn't perfect.
• Strong instinct for pacing, hooks, and keeping viewers watching.
• Understands that a great video isn't just polished — it performs.

How You Work:

• Owns deliverables without needing to be chased down.
• Comfortable with ambiguity — can take a creative brief and run with it.
• Knows when to ask a clarifying question and when to just make a strong creative call.

Content Intuition:

• Keeps up with social media trends and knows what's performing on Reels and Shorts right now.
• Doesn't just follow trends — understands why they work.
• Has a natural eye for what hooks people in the first three seconds.

Core Responsibilities:

• Edit viral, engaging short-form content (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) optimized for performance and audience retention.
• Produce polished long-form content, including podcast episodes and extended video formats.
• Edit talking head videos with strong pacing, clean cuts, and engaging visual enhancements.
• Incorporate visual effects (VFX) and sound effects (SFX) to enhance storytelling and viewer experience
• Execute strong narrative structure and pacing across all content formats.
• Add dynamic text, captions, and on-screen elements to increase engagement and accessibility.
• Collaborate with the creative team to bring content ideas to life and maintain brand consistency.
• Deliver high-quality edits with quick turnaround times while managing multiple projects.
• Maintain organized project files and workflows for efficient production.
