Location: Waimea
Job Type: Full-Time (Contract/Travel)
Pay Rate: $40.00 – $47.00 per hour

Shift Information:

7 days/week coverage required (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
40 hours per week
Days off will vary based on schedule
May require evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Summary:

MTK Healthcare Inc. is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support hospital pharmacy operations. The role involves assisting pharmacists in medication preparation, sterile compounding, inventory management, and ensuring safe and accurate medication distribution in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications
Prepare unit-dose, IV, and compounded medications using sterile techniques
Handle IV solutions, syringes, TPNs, and reconstituted medications
Maintain inventory, stock medications, and remove expired drugs
Refill automated dispensing machines (e.g., Pyxis)
Maintain crash carts and emergency medication supplies
Deliver medications to patient care units
Maintain accurate documentation and patient confidentiality
Follow infection control and safety protocols, including PPE usage
Assist in troubleshooting pharmacy system issues

Additional Duties:

Maintain refrigerator temperature logs
Manage IV inventory and narcotic pulls
Receive and stock incoming medications per DSCSA compliance
Support special projects and departmental needs

Requirements:

Active Pharmacy Technician License (State of Hawaii)
Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience (hospital or clinical setting preferred)
Experience with sterile compounding
Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication handling
