Job Title: Medical Receptionist (Start ASAP) Location: Chesapeake, VA Job Type: Full-Time / In-Person
Position Overview We are seeking an organized, personable, and professional Medical Receptionist to join our fast-paced outpatient practice in Chesapeake. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a critical role in providing a welcoming environment and ensuring smooth office operations. We are looking for a candidate who can start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Coordination: Greet and check in patients warmly, providing a positive first impression.
- Scheduling: Manage complex appointment calendars using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Athenahealth.
- Financial Duties: Collect patient co-pays, verify insurance coverage, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Administrative Support: Handle high-volume multi-line phone systems, process patient paperwork, and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Office Flow: Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow and keep work areas organized.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and EMR software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Reliability: Ability to pass a background check; must have reliable transportation for an in-person role.
