SOAR Transportation Group is a full-service transportation management provider and we are ready to expand our team! We are looking to fill a position on our team with a new Fleet Manager.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to lead others, ability to influence others
  • Ability to communicate well with others; ability to transfer knowledge
  • Ability to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and improve processes to obtain and maintain quality results
  • Ability to solve problems and work in high-pressure situations
  • Detail-oriented
  • Computer/keyboarding skills
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and retain a designated fleet of drivers
  • Establish a good working relationship with each driver
  • Work with planning personnel to obtain loads for their fleet and dispatches drivers
  • Manage driver availability to maximize the productivity of their fleet
  • Perform A.M. and P.M. checks on trucks and note daily
  • Perform monthly driver reviews within the first 30 days of employment for experienced drivers in order to measure and record performance
  • Manage driver performance and take proper disciplinary steps if necessary
  • Know, support, and enforce company policies
  • Manage service levels of 98% for on-time pickup and delivery
  • Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers
  • All other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead others
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry
  • Able to communicate in both writing and verbally
  • Proven ability to solve problems while working in high-pressure situations
  • 3 years of leadership experience within the transportation industry preferred
  • Experience in McLeod is a plus
